ABU University Student Built Solar Powered Cooker Gets 10000 dollars Grant

Usman Dalhatu, an Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria student, has been identified for his clean energy innovation.

After constructing a solar-powered cooker, a brilliant Nigerian student was awarded a $10,000 (N4million) grant.

The solar-powered cooker also includes a television.

The ABU student has been identified as Usman Dalhatu.

The talented engineering student who won the grant was also accepted into the Nigeria Climate Innovation Center's 2021 off-grid energy incubation program, which was funded by All On and The Rockefeller Foundation.

The young man, who had previously been recognized by the federal government for developing an automatic ventilator, was one of eight winners chosen from a list of 21 people who advanced to the finals.

The funds given to Usman, according to Weibe Boer, CEO of All On, will be used to scale up production of the innovation to kiosk franchise owners in Kaduna, Kano, FCT, and Abuja.

He went on to say that the innovation would be used to provide cleaner energy to tens of thousands of tea vendors across Nigeria.
